National City is located in the South Bay area of San Diego County, California. Incorporated in 1887, National City is the second oldest community in San Diego. The community is located within a 20-minute drive from Downtown San Diego and is only 10 miles from the US-Mexico border. There is also an effort to expand the width of sidewalks throughout National City.
